This is a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo.

I replaced the fuel pump in it myself about 6-7 years ago, so I was pretty dubious that the pump had already died last year. But, they don't make stuff like they used to, and ethanol is hard on components, so it was somewhat plausible. Just very odd that I hadn't had any issues with it and then bam - it dies while it's at a shop for a totally unrelated problem. That was really fishy to me.

I just talked to the shop owner asking for an update, and unfortunately he asked me to bring it back next week, because he can't get to it this week. The good news is that he seems like a cool guy and recognizes that this is on them to fix (probably the reason he's not bending over backwards to fix it this week). But this is the perfect example of why I try to do all of my own repairs. Almost every time I do relent and let a shop touch one of my vehicles, it becomes a really frustrating experience.
